🇯🇵 Japan's Virtual Currency Exchange Association proposes a cap on the maximum leverage offered by exchanges for margin trading

According to a report from the Japanese news outlet Jiji.com, the Japan Virtual Currency Exchange Association (JVCEA), the self-regulatory organization (SRO) of the Japanese crypto exchanges has proposed a cap on the max leverage offered by exchanges for margin trading. The proposed max sum is four times the deposit a client has in their account with the exchange (1:4). The purpose of the cap is to prevent investors from big losses in case of sharp price fluctuations. Currently, a few Japanese exchanges such as Quoinex, bitFLyer, Zaif, and Coincheck provide margin trading.
