🖥️ Illicit crypto mining targeting consumers is "essentially extinct," says cybersecurity report

A cybersecurity report published on April 23 by the firm MalwareBytes says that "cryptojacking" (i.e., ilicit crypto mining) is "essentially extinct." The report notes that the browser mining service CoinHive shut down in March and cryptojacking attacks that targeted consumers have sharply decreased. The report also notes, however, that these attacks targeting corporations have increased.
