👾 Hackers of cryptocurrency exchanges target Asia

The majority of crypto exchange cyberattacks in 2018 have centered around Asia, with over $800 million worth of cryptocurrencies stolen so far. Crypto exchanges generally charge fees for trading and store currencies for their customers, which makes it an especially attractive target for hackers. According to CoinMarketCap, there are currently 205 cryptocurrency exchanges in operation, many of which are based in Asia. Four of the seven major hacks so far this year have been in the region, as countries like Japan and Korea see some of the highest global crypto trading volumes.
