Germany's Scholz sounds alarm on cryptocurrencies such as Facebook's Libra
German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said Facebook's Libra must not threaten state sovereignty in a G7 meeting, according to Reuters. Scholz stressed the sole authority of the Euro within Europe:
The issuance of a currency does not belong in the hands of a private company because this is a core element of state sovereignty.
