‘Fortnite’ maker teams up with crypto’s Steam competitor to boost game development

Epic Games, the creator's of Fortnite, have teamed up with crypto-based gaming platform The Abyss. Gaming projects that sign up to use Epic Game's Unreal Engine on The Abyss receive better terms than those who sign with dominant competitor Steam. The Abyss ran a 2018 ICO based on a Vitalik Buterin ICO model, raising almost $15 million in funds. The platform launched in March 2019 and holds six games against Steam's 30,000.
