⛏️ Former Bitmain director of design launches new Bitcoin mining hardware
Shenzhen-based mining chip manufacturer Bitwei will launch a new Bitcoin miner, the WhatsMiner M10, which claims to be more efficient than Bitmain's most recent flagship product, the AntMiner S9 Hydro. Bitwei, which is run by Yang Zuoxing, the former director of design at Bitmain, has raised 140 million yuan (around $20 million) since it was founded in July 2016. The new miner is expected to compete directly with Bitmain, which currently controls around 85 percent of the mining hardware market according to recent documents related to its pending initial public offering.
