Florida city agrees to pay $600,000 in bitcoin to hackers

The New York Times reports that a Florida city has elected to pay nearly $600,000 in bitcoin to hackers who jeopardized its computer systems towards the end of May. Riviera Beach agreed to execute the payment during a city council meeting so the hackers would remove a crippling email virus and restore its networks.
