Five Canadian banks let consumers verify their identities using an IBM blockchain app

Verified.Me, an application built on IBM's blockchain, has been integrated by five Canadian banks to let customers verify their identities in a "privacy-enhanced way," CoinDesk reports. The five banks (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Royal Bank of Canada, Scotiabank, Toronto–Dominion Bank and Desjardins Group) are using this IBM-based app, whose blockchain is in turn based on Hyperledger's blockchain, to enter a "new era" for Canadians to manage their "digital identity assets," says Katie Greenberg, vice president for digital products and retail payments at Scotiabank.
