Federal authorities charge an executive for alleged $7M bitcoin fraud
Jon Barry Thompson, principal of cryptocurrency escrow firm Volantis Escrow Platform, has been charged with charged with fraud in New York. Thompson is accused of taking over $7 million from clients and falsely claiming he had purchased bitcoin with the money and that Volantis acted as a custodian so there was "no risk of default."
