Developers are already testing the code for Ethereum's ($ETH) upcoming "Constantinople" release which is aimed at making the platform more efficient while reducing costs associated with fees. The upgrade will incorporate four Ethereum improvement proposals (EIPs), but the community has not decided if it will address larger issues like a change in mining difficulty, called a "difficulty bomb," or a change in how gas pricing works. While there is no set date for release the fork is expected to be deployed before Devcon4 in October.
