Ethereum community members plan a friendly fork called "Alternateth"

James Hancock, project team lead at ethereum startup ETHSignals, told CoinDesk he is about to launch a so-called “friendly fork” of Ethereum. Named “Alternateth,” Hancock hopes the network will launch in two months and act as “a sister chain” to Ethereum validating ideas and proof-of-concepts before adoption on the main chain.
