ECB's Weidmann: Should be vigilant about stablecoins but not alarmed

European Central Bank member and president of the Deutsche Bundesbank Jens Weidmann said stablecoins are good innovation but concerns remain. “There’s no reason to be alarmed but there’s reason to be vigilant,” Weidmann said at the G7. According to eToro analyst Mati Greenspan on Twitter, Weidmann is also mildly in favor of Facebook's Libra, calling it attractive to consumers if it lives up to its promises.
