Analyst Notes: Consensus 2022 Recap and Takeaways

With 15,000+ attendees, 400+ talks, 100+ degrees Fahrenheit and 100+ after-parties later, Consensus 2022 is in the books.

The scene was interactive, interesting, and high-energy.

Regulators interacting with meme lords. Sports stars talking with Solidity devs. Twitter degens chopping it up with pension and hedge fund managers. Venture capitalists grabbing drinks with NFT artists. Consensus 2022 was truly a melting pot of what crypto can and could be.

Here are some of the key themes I took away from a crazy few days in Austin.

Regulation was in Focus

Post-Terra (and now maybe Celsius…and 3AC), it's no surprise that regulation is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. The one hammer that could put the nail in our emerging industry with one or two swift blows is punitive regulation by a country like the U.S.

At Consensus we had some heavy hitters speaking including Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, current and former CFTC commissioners, House of Representatives Members, and THREE freaking Senators.
