📚 College students are the second biggest crypto miner demographic
According to industry verticals data from security researchers at Cisco, the second largest hub for cryptocurrency mining activity is college campuses. In fact, 22 percent of mining happens on college campuses, just behind the energy and utilities sector at 34 percent. Cisco threat researcher Austin McBride told PC Magazine, "You leave [ the mining rig ] running in your dorm room for four years, you walk out of college with a big chunk of change."
