🙍 Citi has scrapped its plan for a JPM Coin-like bank-backed cryptocurrency
Citicoin,a JPM Coin styled digital transfer initiative started by Citi Bank back in 2015, has been scrapped, according to Citi's Innovation Head Gulru Atak. The project, which was based out of Dublin and never publicly announced, has been cut in favor of other cross-border payment solutions. Citi's innovation team has switched its focus to improving the efficiency and connectivity with existing legacy systems.
