BitMEX grants $60,000 to Bitcoin Core contributor

Bitcoin ($BTC) Core contributor and project maintainer Michael Ford has been awarded a $60,000 non-exclusive grant by BitMEX to continue working on Bitcoin Core, according to the company. The grant is Ford's first as a maintainer. In a statement, CTO Sam Reed expressed gratitude for Ford's work:

Without the millions of free man-hours from dedicated OSS developers powering everything from our operating systems, to our web servers, to our ops tools and Bitcoin itself, the BitMEX trading platform could not have been built. We don’t forget this gift.
