Bitmain is reportedly facing growing resistance to its initial public offering (IPO) application with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) due to market uncertainty. Bitmain filed for an offering earlier this year as it looked to capitalize on the crypto bull market of 2017. Rival companies Canaan Creative and Ebang also filed to offer shares but the downturn in crypto markets has reportedly made HKEX "hesitant" to list companies heavily reliant on the volatile industry, with Canaan Creative's application having already expired after the HKEX or Hong Kong’s financial regulator failed to sign off.
