🐜 Bitmain announces new ASIC chip

Following an announcement from Bitfury earlier this week, Bitmain has announced its own next-generation SHA256 ASIC mining chip. While exact details have not been released Bitmain claims the new 7nm chip will be more powerful and efficient, quoting a potential 42J/TH ratio of energy consumption to mining power making it approximately twice as efficient as Bitmain's current offering. The chip will be integrated into new mining hardware to be released at a later date.
