Despite a high profile hack Korean based crypto exchange Bithumb reported a profitable start to 2018. Filings from Vidente, a video company that owns 11% of the exchange, show that Bithumb collected a total of $270 million in revenue within the first six months of 2018, with $194 million in operating profits, before deductions. According to the filings, profits came in at approximately $35 million for the same period. Bithumb suffered a major breach in June during which $31 million in cryptoassets were stolen, though later the exchange claims to have recovered $14 million.
