BitGo has passed a self-elected SOC Type 2 audit by an undisclosed 'Big Four' audit firm, becoming the first in the crypto industry to do so. SOC Type 1 audits ensure saftey protocols while Type 2 allow investigation into actual business practices. Rival exchange and custodian Gemini has only passed an SOC Type 1, placing BitGo as the industry leader for safety concerns.
