🏪 Bitcoin payments fall from high in September

According to research from Chainalysis, the top 17 bitcoin ($BTC) merchant processors facilitated $69 million in payments during June 2018, down from $411 million in Sept. 2017. Volatility and high fees earlier in the year caused some platforms, like Stripe, to stop accepting bitcoin. While fees may make it costly to complete small transactions, merchant processor BitPay noted an increase in companies paying vendors in bitcoin and online retailer Overstock.com saw a two-fold increase in crypto payments, primarily for big-ticket items like furniture and laptops.
