🇨🇦 Bitcoin ownership in Canada is up 72 percent since 2016

A survey conducted by the Bank of Canada indicates that 5% of Canadians now own Bitcoin ($BTC), up from 2.9% a year ago. This marks a 72% relative increase in just a little more than a calendar year. Additionally, the survey found that 85% of Canadian residents are aware of Bitcoin, up from 64% the year before. The increase in awareness may partly stem from the fact that the country has emerged as a major hub for crypto mining in the Western hemisphere.
