Hut 8 is the self-proclaimed largest publicly traded bitcoin mining company, operating over 80 data centers and mining 7,300 bitcoins since December 2017. But a second round of layoffs hit the company, according to CBC News, as Hut 8 explains its decreasing profit margins as the result of increasing competition in mining and rising electricity costs.
