The Lightning Network's capacity has increased some 15% over January and now holds a capacity of 600 Bitcoin ($BTC) worth $2 million. A payment system built on top of Bitcoin's blockchain, the Lightning Network grew slowly at first in 2018, but new metrics show incredible growth leaving 2018 and entering 2019. The number of nodes stands at 5768, a rise of 16% over the month, while the number of channels has shot up 36% to 22,750.
