There was a considerable jump in the Bitcoin ($BTC) network's hash rate earlier this week, jumping more than 35% to 62-69 EH/s. If we were to assume that this jump coincided with an entity turning on a large number of miners at once, that would mean that roughly one gigawatt of power came online at once. This increase in hash rate implies an improvement in Bitcoin's security.
