💰 Bitcoin developer introduces soft fork proposal to set minimum price at $50,000

Bitcoin ($BTC) developer Luke Dashjr has published a Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP) to initiate a soft fork at block height 622,370 which would accept as valid only transactions that declare a price denominated in dollars set at a minimum of $50,000. "Certain parts of the community have been selling bitcoins for unreasonably low prices," explains Dashjr. "Bitcoin is worth much more than [its current price], and there is widespread support for higher prices."
