Binance CEO decides against attempting a blockchain reorg to recover stolen bitcoins

In a series of Tweets, Binance CEO Changpeng 'CZ' Zhao says Binance has decided against a re-organization of the Bitcoin ($BTC) blockchain to recover the 7,000 coins stolen in a hack. The option was first proposed by Bitcoin Core contributor Jeremy Rubin, but was shot down after internally and with experts. After criticism, CZ has stated that altering the blockchain state was impossible due to the immutable nature of Bitcoin and the amount of consensus needed to pull off a successful re-org.
