Top Australian BitConnect promoter John Bigatton has seen his assets frozen and travel restricted by an Australian court alongside an investigation from Australia’s financial enforcement agency (ASIC). Bigatton was among the promoters onstage during the infamous Carlos Matos appearance that led to many memes within the crypto community. BitConnect was an alleged Ponzi scheme that collapsed in Jan. 2018 after promising returns of up to 40 percent per month for lending money to a supposed "trading bot."
