🐜 Antminer in China particularly attacked by virus hAnt for BTC ransom

According to local crypto media Yibenchain, the last few months have seen Chinese miners being attacked from a new virus, hAnt. Believed to be an overclocking firmware virus that overrides cooling protocol, the hAnt hacker demands ten Bitcoin ($BTC) ransom at the threat of overheating mining machines and further spreading the virus. Mining operators have limited options, all of which are costly such as reformatting SD cards, replacing byte libraries, or selling the machines.
