🚔 Anti-Money Laundering Group issues preliminary report on cryptoassets

In response to a request from the G20, the Financial Industry Task Force has published preliminary findings on the potential impact of cryptocurrencies on current anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing regulatory regimes:

  1. Cryptoassets facilitate easy online access and global reach, making them attractive to move and store funds.
  2. Links between cryptoassets and criminal activity appear to be growing.
  3. FATF is reviewing whether specific guidance for cryptoassets is necessary in its Standards.

The group's full report has been delayed until October.
