Crypto needs a design movement. Blockchain technology is moving faster than ever, yet its design has not kept up. Some of the design challenges that the industry faces include:
- The industry does a terrible job of explaining itself and the technology to the general, non-technical public
- Addresses are nonsensical compared to other types of addresses (email, house, phone, etc.)
- There is no easy analog for crypto because of its divisibility
- It is difficult to make sense out of very long numbers and small decimals
Some questions the industry needs to solve include:
- How do we design intangible money?
- How do we build trust in a concept, instead of a company?
- How do we make it all simple enough so a child can understand?
Crypto needs a design movement. In addition to the technological progress, the industry needs more people thinking about guidance, education, and use casesβββpeople who can make technical ideas accessible to all.
