One of the most fascinating aspects of crypto networks is that, if designed correctly, they can be unstoppable as they transfer control from individuals to algorithms without fail-safe mechanisms. An example of this is Augur burning the kill-switch and Bitcoin being too decentralized to coordinate actors cost-efficiently. Though this provides certain benefits like decentralization, research in psychology and behavioral economics suggest that we have weaknesses and can act in socially and economically irrational ways. As a result, the unstoppability of crypto networks can be dangerous as it can be near impossible to revert mistakes.
