👷🏼‍♀️ [Analysis] The public internet needs public payments infrastructure – Peter Van Valkenburgh

Vulnerabilities are inherent in systems with single points of failure. Private corporations are essential, but no critical infrastructure should be wholly dependent on one or two. Like the Internet did for communications infrastructure, blockchains could disintermediate critical payments and IOT infrastructure. Though the technology isn't entirely ready yet, it is a source of hope and deserves pro-innovation policy.
