We no longer trust the pillar institutions of post-WWII society and this has significant consequences and has led to decentralized cryptoassets. Though decentralization has terrible tradeoffs like throughput and volatility, it is the byproduct of a conscious decision to prioritize seizure resistance, immutability, and decentralization. Thus, focusing on the inefficiencies misses the point. The best projects are building with the understanding that the new world is about lack of trust.
