Mike Dudas of The Block sat down with Circle's Jeremy Allaire in Davos at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. In the interview, Allaire discussed the vision of Circle, notable acquisitions and products, and Circle's value within the crypto market. Founded in 2013, Allaire and co-founder Sean Neville envisioned Circle becoming a global financial company through the burgeoning cryptocurrency scene. Circle set out to acquire and develop various crypt products to support the virtual assets Allaire and Neville believed to be available in the future. The 2018 acquisition of Poloniex, for example, added a user-friendly cryptocurrency exchange to Circle's assets. The launch of open source U.S.D. stablecoin CENTRE last fall was another milestone, as it built a base layer for future Circle financial services and products. Lastly, Allaire sees Circle filling a key institutional role by offering services for larger orders, particularly via Circle Trade, which has a minimum order size of $250,000, and its stablecoin, CENTRE.
