The amount of Bitcoin ($BTC) untouched for the last five years has reached an old-time-high at 3,847,859 BTC or 21.6% of issuance. As Coin Metrics writes, the long term trend points towards Bitcoin's consolidation as a store of value versus a medium of exchange. Adamant Capital's Tuur Demeester points out on Twitter that the five-year window could point toward a significant amount of lost coins.
