Alison argues that the whole promise of Ethereum is that it offers secure, decentralized, p2p transactions ; however, Infura has become a major point of failure and is raising concerns. As it is difficult to run a full node, most dApp users and developers are using Infura instead. Because Infura's infrastructure is as pervasive as it is, a breach could have catastrophic effects to the entire network and dApps built on it. A solid alternative needs to be built.
