Our culture needs to change first if this is to come about, however. Blockchain technology is costly, but by using cooperative mental models we can break through given challenges with imaginative solutions. Current whiplash against surveillance capitalism points towards a more decentralized digital future. Institutions and methodologies need to be created to protect individual privacy.
