Visions of the future come in two flavors: constrained and unconstrained. In the constrained, certain assumptions about how the world works exist, creating trade offs for actions. In the unconstrained, all problems have solutions which are only limited by one's imagination. In the crypto market, rhetoric and language hold little water because the foundations of both sides are not properly understood. Popular disagreements over altcoins, methods of coin distribution, governance models, and Proof-of-Work (PoF) versus Proof-of-Stake (PoS) boil down to the constrained or unconstrained mindset. Take coin distribution, for example: Bitcoiner's stand in favor of market adoption regardless of how 'unfair' it is because it is grounded in assumptions about the human condition. Alternative methods, which unconstrained visionaries work toward such as UBI airdrops, have obvious faults that do not conform to reality. Both views, however, are not always mutually exclusive and needed for invention, innovation, and adoption in the market.
