✒️ 21 Congresspersons urge the IRS (again) to clarify crypto tax rules
A letter written and signed by a bipartisan group of lawmakers has been sent to the head of the IRS, Charles Rettig. The IRS issued rules for crypto taxing in 2014, but has yet to post any updates. A similar letter was written six months ago which went unanswered. The current letter narrowed down updates to three points, asking how crypto taxes should rightfully be classified, identified, and updated, particularly in light of hardforks. The letter asked for a response by May 15th.
