$100M cryptocurrency data center in Colorado is met with controversy
AX2 Data Centers' plan to build a $100 million crypto mining center in Pueblo, Colorado is receiving heavy criticism from the public due to energy costs, putting the center in jeopardy. Under recent Colorado law, businesses can receive energy subsidies in exchange for promised economic development. Although the center plans on hiring 40 employees, energy estimates hitting 50 megawatts are placing Pueblo's 100% renewable energy by 2035 in question.
