UK blockchain startup Chainspace team has been 'acqui-hired' by Facebook in apparent move further into the crypto industry for the social media giant. Chainspace, founded by University College London researchers, was working on decentralized smart contract systems for blockchain based payments. Chainspace is now shutting down after losing four of its five white paper writers, although none of the tech was acquired by Facebook.
